Hava who pi ?

Havasue Falls

Nature's art

My sweet husband is in Havasupi right now. My love for him has grown these last few days. I am not a wife that would do well, or last, with my husband traveling for work. I HATE him being gone! I can't sleep at night, I miss him and well pretty much I am a baby. As luck ALWAYS has it, my kids get sick every time he leaves... why is this? Good question... To make me stronger? Or to just dread it more the next time he has a trip planned and I can't go? I am still not sure... :-) Since May Scott has been planning this trip with more excitement that I usually see from him.. He made up songs, Native American words, called family everyday!!!! (no joke), had everyone looking at you-tube videos, his attempt to get everyone as excited as him. He really is soooo funny! He gets a little O.C.D. about things sometimes.. most people don't know that about him... unless your family..ha!
When you plan this trip and talk to everyone about it you get really mixed opinions. Some people told us it was such an easy hike, others said it was the hardest thing they have ever done! My plan was to ride a mule in & fly out ( helicopter). You may think I am joking but no I am not.. also considering I thought I would be taking all the kiddo's.. So needless to say I am here home with my little Brig sick & sad and I sure hope Scott is having the time of his life. I genuinely mean that.. I sure wish I could have gone but I hope that he will tell me all the stories... he has a little tendency to forget the details.... I am a detail person.. Hopefully there are some pictures to post when he gets back..I can't wait for late, late late Saturday night when he will get home with his brothers & sisters! Brooks just got home from his mission and I am a little overly excited to see him! I love my family! and Scott's family!
I realized this week that it was just about 2 years ago from now that Scott & I got engaged!! Funny how fast time flies.. I know it's only 2 years but GOOD GRIEF I have know him for 13 and it took him way too long to say something.. It was a long journey but I am happy as a clam though and look forward to many, many more years of marital bliss.

We've got a 10 month old on our hands!

So yes, can you believe it, Brig is 10 months old!!!! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I was starving in bed on Thanksgiving, the day after we got home from the hospital. ( because my mom was supposed to bring over Turkey dinner... thanks mom!) calling Tanya & Brooke making sure the dinner invite was still good and them coming over to a totally messy house... and being such great friends to not even care that we ate all of their leftovers! The, what seemed like, endless nights that our sweet little boy would just not sleep( 6 weeks to be exact). Waiting and anticipating for that 1st smile, laugh, roll over, and crawl.... Now he is on to bigger & better things like trying to get up the stairs in 6 secs flat. Yelling; not because he's mad but because he can, and it must feel good! His sweet laugh at his sissy & brother. I love the cute way he kicks his legs in his carseat and in the stroller. How he plays with his ears when he's eating or tired. And how excited he gets when Daddy gets home at the end of a long day. As I mom I think that he is pretty much perfect! I quickly forget how rotten he's been during my day of trying to get things done, as soon as he attacks my face for a nice wet, slobbery kiss.. Yes, the kiss only a mom could love. That's my boy!

Koala lou I do love you!

Drew has been saying some pretty funny this week and I have been writing it down so I don't forget it.

(this is Drew getting out of bed tonight..his tactics for not having to sleep)
Hey dad, I have a great idea, we can all sit on the couch, that's my great idea.
Scott says- Hey I have a great idea, how bout you get in bed or i'll spank your butt.
Drew- um no, that's not a good idea.

(in bed for 2 minutes)
hey I have a new good idea, how bout you give uncle scotty a wet willi.

I love you so much your such a sweet boy, yeah mom your such a sweet girl!

I love you mom. Hey what's on your lips?

(at 10pm, Drew walks down the stairs again) Hey why you guys up so early?

Why do you guys get to have a T.V. in your room?

When I grow up can I get a real vacuum?

Hey dad, you can't have food in bed.

Mom, were good guys - we're family!

Mom, I need to call granny.

Tonight is puppy's turn to bless the food.... ( his stuffed animal)

Dad, I think I saw Jesus.

I want soft hair like Papa.

Some how Drew has forgotten all of his colors. How this happened, I have no idea, but every time I ask him a color, he simply shrugs his shoulders and smiles, says hmm I don't know. But I do know pink.

If he gets in trouble, or better yet, caught, he says, " but mom, I'm just a little guy."

In our home there is never a dull moment with Drew. He is so dang cute. It is now 10:35 and he is in bed for the night... hopefully!
He is always laughing and never takes anyone or anything too seriously. Unless your a police-um. He has a problem with not getting in his car seat so if we threaten to pull over to talk to a police officer, he gets his act together real quick! Good thing his Uncle Jared is a policeum.

Kali's 1st day of school !

There really is no excuse. School started 1 month ago and I should have put Kali's pictures up before now... She was so excited to start school. It was a dreamy 116 outside on august 7th. Life was going great and in Kali's eyes just going to get better. She came home the 1st day and said mom it was great but I am just sooo happy that it is only half day! Which made me laugh! She is doing great, she loves math, learning her letters and trying spell everything all the time! I can't believe that I have my little Kali-girl in school, and that she is almost 6!!!! Time sure flies! Since school has started her love for her brothers has grown. She is excited to come home and see the boys. Drew still is crying every day when she gets on the bus. I must admit that I find it very endearing. Drew & Brig nap while she is gone so it makes a nice little break in the day for me. The excitement that she has when she gets home is pretty funny. Her stories of P.E. with Mr. Mac, going to the Library, and how she just doesn't understand why they have to have Recess inside.. why is it so hot still? 1 thing I still haven't figured out is how is it possible for her to have MORE energy now that she is in school? She talks and sings NON STOP. It's really cute and sweet to see how much she loves life right now at the fun age she is.

rub a dub dub... we are all so sick... where's the love?

What a week! On Thursday night after a beautiful trip to the park, we rushed home, I started dinner and the world started spinning.... I finished making dinner but didn't eat. Took some Tylenol and my temp.... 101.6 ( what the?) then got the kiddo's ready for bed, we were sitting on the couch waiting to start scriptures and family prayer, Kali says her stomach hurt & head hurt, Drew said he was sick, Brig was crying and all of them didn't eat much dinner. So out came the thermometer and ALL 3 kids had high fevers.... what a good mom to notice... right? They all had there medicine and went pretty easily to bed... a few hours later Brig woke up SCREAMING... he was burning hot and totally miserable, I was covered in sweat and thought that my fever broke, but woke up in the morning with a temp of 102.6. So needless to say Saturday night when Drew & I weren't feeling any better we ran to Urgent Care (I thought I might have Strep Throat) and the Dr. said yeah you 2 are in pretty bad shape.... you might think about getting your tonsils removed!!?? ( a fun thought... knowing how awful that procedure could be... but hey my baby weight would be gone!!! look on the bright side) So here it is Sunday, Scott is at church, I am home with 2 wonderfully cranky kids, watching Mickey Mouse Club House ( they usually can't watch T.V. on Sunday), do what ever works! I am not sure if I hope that Scott doesn't get this.... let me explain... all during this, he has been asking me how I feel and saying "Honey it's all about a positive mental attitude", " Maybe you should shower, you'll feel better"... I would have liked to give him a little positive mental..... but that's my sweet husband.... ALWAYS looking on the bright side.. thats one reason why I married him... I guess I should have figured him out when Brig was born.... he said, " Now Honey, that wasn't so bad!!!"
sorry.. no pictures needed for this post...
